I wonder if the person who bought the first one is now selling it? How dishonest not to mention the hole!

I would sooo love a Crane. Looks like he is going for big £££ already. Couldn't see the hole, but way out of my budget already. 01351

Yes, it was Joolz and she bought it from a friend of mine. My friend bought it from a collector in Denmark originally. This is definately not the same one.

The listing describes the Crane as being in excellent condition. I disagree about the hole theory. To me the 'hole' is in fact, a shadow.

There's only one way to know for sure and that is to ask, just as someone did with the Aldabra bead.

I think it's a fake 01353_1
Is it just me or are the legs on the crane more "rounded" than on the original?

Yes, it was Joolz and she bought it from a friend of mine. My friend bought it from a collector in Denmark originally. This is definately not the same one.

Definitely not the same one, mine is on my bracelet and even though he has a hole in his wing he's still loved 01348

Before I bid on mine I looked at various photos of the Crane with a magnifying glass to compare.
I imagine that the one I have probably had an air bubble in the silver when it was poured into the mould, hence the hole in it's wing. It could also have been sold as an imperfect bead. I'm sure that silver beads can vary in production as they are finished by hand .... I remember reading somewhere that someone was unhappy with their daisy bead as the detail and finish was not very good compared to others 01351

I honestly think it could be a shadow. I take at least 25 pics of each jewelry item I make and hope to get 2-5 good ones. Light can play funny tricks on sterling silver.

Difficult to tell from the pics !

I tend to think it's only a shadow or reflection in the first pic, but I am not sure about the second pic.
On the other hand, if it's not a flaw in the first pic and both pics are taken from the same bead, why shold there be something wrong in the second pic?

Confusing - and the pics aren't very clear........
