Sad but inevitable With the world economy in such a mess I guess everything is going to be more expensive. It won't stop me buying beads but I'll be a lot more choosy...... better buy the things I want in the current before the price increase.

That is for sure The price of gold and other precious metals has risen dramatically in recent years
I will still buy probably at the same sedate pace . Some will still be reasonably affordable and there is always Birthday and Christmas |

Bad news from Germany :
the price increase will be between 10% and 17% here for all beads
So glas 1 and small silver is supposed to go up from EUR 23,- to EUR 27,- !!
Bummer !! For that price I want the best quality and sorry to say, that´s not TB at the moment. |

Sorry for all of those who have just started to collect, that´s really a bummer.
I had an increase one month after my start but compared to now it was not that huge.
I have enough beads for a life time and production beads are not that tempting any more, so I hope I can slow down.
But these new prices are bad news and I think they will slow down my spending habit very much. |

| It's inevitable that prices go up but the beads are quite pricey to begin with. People who admire my beads gasp when they realize how much it costs to put a bracelet together. But will the price increases slow sales? Probably not too much for those who are hooked (many on this forum!). |

I hope somebody from Trollbead Company read this:
IF THE PRICE GOES UP - SO MUST THE QUALITY OF THE GLASSBEADS.
I entered a shop the other day who just have resived alot of new beautiful beads, and I did't buy one because they all had something (glasspieces missing, deep scrathes or millions of small bubbles).
Well my wallet loves it, but I am sure that i the end, Trollbead Company will suffer. How come the quality have become so bad??
I have a wichlist now that are so small, and I really don't need any new beads. So for me, I am at the end of the line - I feel sad/sorry for the new collector's - they are going to have a hard time, finding perfect glasses. |

I have to agree with you Trolldefan of the last three OOAKs I have bought two had scratches. I returned on (spring limited release) kept one as it was so lovely and only my old type bead that was being sold of cheap is perfect.
I have also turned down OOAks because of scratches. DH told me he swapped my birthday Daisy bead as the first one he picked up had a hole/dent in one of the petals (I didn't see this bead but he says a bit of silver was missing).
So Troll if you MUST put prices up please also increase the Quality control. |

Wise words and I hope the mothership reads it! The beads only get bigger and bigger and the quality poorer and poorer !
Today a dealer told me of an oncoming price increase here in Germany too. But she's usually not that well informed and talked about a price of 27,00 EUR for the cheapest beads. I hope she's not right, that would be an increase by nearly 18% ! Who can afford that and it's out of the question to ask for a bead from friends and family for birthday as we don't do so expensive presents! _________________ Ageing is inevitable, maturity is optional! |

MMP, these rumours and the new prices seem to be true, there´s already a heated discussion thread on the German forum about that
We will have to see how things turn out for TB but this might have been a bit unwise to increase prices when quality is such an issue. |

It's a shame all round. I'm hoping it will force me onto the bead wagon, as have spent so much on my collection so far. Need to be much more selective and wait for special beads for special occasions. _________________ Love beads and more beads... |

I was told by my LD that the glass group 1 and silver group 1 would increase in price from £23.00 to £25.00 all the others groups would also go up This is due to ever increasing prices in raw materials and labour costs. I would however love my beads to be without chips, scratches and loose cores, then I wouldn't mind quite so much. |

hi,
it is such a pity, I have already lots of beads, need only a few silver beads, (buy them before the increase) I intended to buy the one and only gold bead,
I will refrain from doing so,
I am not that nuts about it.

I'm addicted, so yes I will keep buying, but my budget is the same so I will get less.
Also , I have gone a bit crazy on Ooaks lately, this price increase feels like the slap in the face that brings you back to your senses, I can't keep spending money without thinking, I need to stick to my budget and plan my purchases. |

Hmm...when I got a new catalogue from CPH with a birthday bead I noticed the gold had gone up (eg gold stopper back up to 70E) but the silver and glass were the same so I assumed we were safe on the others...
Not a happy trollie...I think perhaps they will have to be special occasions only from now on! When I started collecting they were starting at £14 - we're not far from 100% increase in two and a half years!! And the quality was waaay better back then too.
Aargh, this is really bad news! Hubby says if all of us on the forum went on a three month strike they might take notice
Sorry to rant... |

As others have said, its gonna be xmas, birthdays and special treats. |
