Do you have a bead in your collection that just seems to sit there doing nothing?

For me, it is my Green Eye bead. It was bought as part of a kit, but I never ever use it .... though, having said that, I would never part with it either.

I have a lot of beads that just sit there. Mostly, they are OOAKs that I bought thinking I would use them and just don't. I'm not even sure I like them any more

I know I definitely play favorites!

I also have favorites... BUT I tend to use them in rotation...

Right now... They are all sitting there... I have not played beads since the beginning of Jan... Just had too much going on... Plan is Wednesday snow day = play date (and laundry)!!!

The pastels, I have not used the baby pinks and blues for well over a year or more, also my dark blues, even though I started out with blue beads I now never wear them, I much prefer greens and earthy colours, or turquoise, purples and reds.

Right now I am not wearing my harvest hued beads with the exception of my orange armadillos who are curretly playing on an all dillo bracelet. I like to think they are just resting until pressed into service in a few months.

Yes! At one time I loved flower ooaks. I have one that I never wear. I have managed to swap or sell the others. I also have a dillo with a shamrock on it. I am saving it for St Patrick's Day. Most of the beads that sit in my box are ooaks, now that I am thinking about it!

Several. The blue and the white retireds, some OOAKs, and some from the current collection.

My least used beads must be Black Dots which really is a Black Buds and the eye bead. But they came in a kit.

But, as you said yoursef, I couldn't part with them either. So the unused and rarely used beads have all moved to the safe-deposit box in the bank vault. Room in the bead villa!

I have beads that just sit there, and my Eye bead is one of them, too.

Ooo how coincidental! I just made an entire bracelet around my Green Eye Bead today! It rocks! I'll post a picture tomorrow, it is night here now.

My only advice for a hard to work bead is to consider doubles of it. I'm considering doubles of Green Eye myself as it really is a unique one.

I don't use my green jade as much as I expected, but the one I use least is a pink ooak.

I have a seagrass I never use. The green and blue in it don't seem to match other blues and greens. But I consider it a collectors item :-)

When I realized how expensive my addiction could become, I decided not to hold on to anything I didn't love. Those are few, while the ones I do love are many. Some of my neutrals are just sitting there, but I can't part with them like Glass Stone, Black Squirrel, and Gray Armadillo.

My least used glass is my Blue-White Armadillo because I don't yet have the beads to use it in a combo. One day I will.

I rarely use my Beige/Blue Dot. I just don't have anything else with that color blue in it! And my Russian/Pink Amber doesn't get used either. Sad based on what I paid for it. I've often thought of selling it, but keep going back and forth, thinking I might feel guilty?! :?

Trollgirl, the pink ambers are not easy to match, but don't sell them. They are so beautifull wih gold and some dark browns. Or with orange.
Just make them a project, and you will love them again.

Interesting, but my green eye bead too sits in the box and has never made it to a bracelet. Also, most of my jasper is sitting in the box too.

My LD guilted me a couple of weeks ago and I'm still not over it! They put their older retireds on sale for the original price. I bought six, and after having them for several days the only one I was truly pleased with was Julian. I can't even tell you why I like that one, but I do. Long story short, I sold the other five and was able to buy three beads that I know I will love (From the Tibet set which I have been longing for). But every time I see her she says "Now don't be selling those beads now...."

I shouldn't feel guilty, but I do just a bit. I have to get over it.

Why do you think you would feel guilty?

I really like the Jillian and saw it for a good price not too long ago but now that site is sold out of it.

I just bought the tibet set and spent a valuable amount of money on them but I am very very happy with them and thrilled that they arrived so quickly!

I have a lot of beads that sit alone and are not worn....alot of OOAKs and glass beads, alot of my silvers...When I first started collecting I bought alot of the animal beads because I wanted to make a silver all animal bracelet...which I may do still one of these days. But I have a lot of beads that just sit there, but they are in nice boxes and I consider it my wonderful bead collection.

The only beads that I am willing to sell start with the letter "P"...I plan on selling "those" beads on a certain site very soon because I am in need of some money
