|
|
Well, after long anticipation, my smooth agates arrived today from Denmark. After seeing all the beautiful ones on here, I admit mine were a little disappointing. I was hoping for some nice pink/orange stripy ones, and the ones I got are pretty boring I think. They are also more purple than pink! The nicest one has a pretty big hole in it. Guess they are better than nothing, but I am usually disappointed when I can't hand pick!
Here they are... One is on the bracelet and the other two are in the middle. I updated my Valentine's Bracelet!
Here are some close-ups:
and finally, just the bracelet... I was a little bad today and bought a golden cave because it was so pink with little gold in it, a pink trace and another red/pink prism.

They're lovely. To be honest, I'm more often than not happier to receive beads (sight unseen) or otherwise I'd spend absolutely hours fussing and dithering over choices.
Oh, and your photography is amazing. |

I don't think they are so bad. I love the colors on the one you have on your bracelet. They are mighty fushia though, but with your bracelet they are perfect. I certainly like the smooth better in your pictures. Do you get sparkley? They look like they shimmer, I like that. :D
I'm jealous you found a red pink prism. I can't find one anywhere! |

Wow - I would be loving them. I really like that simple pinky one. It is tough to buy unseen, I can understand your feeling there.
The bracelet turned out fabulous regardless... _________________ ~Love me, love my Trollbeads~ |

| Its tough when there is so much variance in a bead to buy sight unseen, but unfortunately many people here have no other option. I love the one on your bracelet, and your photos are outstanding! :) |

Even if you haven't fallen for your lovely agates, give them time as they may eventually turn out to be your favorites. _________________ ~~~ Almost a year in the Land Under the Bridge and loving every minute of it. ~~~

I had just admired so many on here that people bought and they were so pretty, and mine just seem kind of "blah". Guess I'm not one of the favorite customers to get the good beads! I'm sure I will enjoy wearing them, but they are such a different color than my faceted one. I was so prepared to like the smooth better and I like the faceted better!
I REALLY wanted a striped one, and by reading on here, I think all of Europe is sold out, right? |

| I suspect that a few agates are exceptional, but most are pretty ordinary. My dealer received 30 of them and I had first pick. My two are nice, but other 28 were almost all the same: bright pink with very little stripy detail. I haven't seen any really good ones in Australia and yours actually look better than most of the ones I have seen. Does that cheer you up ? :D |

I really like your agates ... I don't think that I've seen one I don't like yet. I can't notice a hole in yours ... I really like the one with the swirl veins in it :D They are all really different from each other so that is good :D AND that combo is spectacular ... I love your faceted agate ... stunning! :D _________________ If I had a Flower for every Trollbead I loved....I'd walk in a Garden Forever |

Chewy, They look great on your combo. I think the color is bright but your other beads balance it. Your cave is a very nice soft color.
I did expect to like the smooth ones better but as you say, you need to see them before buying. With such a limited edition, it is hard to do that. _________________ Still looking for that Old Scarab;-) |

Beautiful agates, CB! They go very well with the new version of Golden Cave since it does have pink in it. _________________ Michelle |

I'm sorry you're disappointed! It's always a bit of a gamble when you have to buy unseen, I often have to do that, too, especially with LEs.
I love the agate you put on the bracelet. Which one does have the whole? I couldn't figure that out in the pic. |

I think they are fabulous, the one on your bracelet is especially gorgeous. _________________ "Trolls, as you probably know, must be underground before dawn, or they go back to the stuff of the mountains they are made of, and never move again..." |

| I think they are very pretty, but I know what you mean about not being able to choose, I'm always sure they have deliberately sent me the worst bead in the shop  then after a couple of days I realise they have actually sent me a very pretty bead  |
