Summer 2008 Trollbeads

It’s time to open up your windows, get your bike out from the basement or simply sit on a bench in the park and feel the sun on your face. It’s summer! However, for some, this is also the time to sit in their rooms, hidden behind piles of books – studying for exams. So here they finally are, the exam-beads: End of school and Graduation.
And with them, inspired by the world of sports, to celebrate personal achievement and team spirit: Champion and Team.

TEAM

2008 Winter Trollbeads

The 2008 Winter Trollbeads collection is going to be released in just over two weeks, so everyone remember to mark your calendars for 02/15/08. This is going to be a big day in Trollbead land.

The cat was accidentally let out of the bag sort of speak yesterday on one of our other sites RetiredTrollbeads.com, this was truly a mistake and misunderstanding on our part, so to everyone that we may have ruined the surprise for we are sorry. I must say though a lot of Trollbeads fans must have really been looking forward to getting a glimpse at the new line of Trollbeads, we saw the highest one day totals ever on our website as far has hits go, word must have made it around the internet pretty quickly.

We are however unable to show you what all 49 NEW 2008 Trollbeads will look like, but we can let you know what to expect. Here is what you can look forward to come February 15, 2008.

Trollbeads History 1976 - 2007

Trollbeads history from 1976 to 2006

30 years ago people wore parka coats, and big hair was in. ABBA has just released "Arrival" and "Saturday Night Fever" was about to take the world.

1976 was between the hippie age and the disco era; political awareness was declining and the need for parties, dancing and good times was on the rise. And if you were "with it" you had a leather string around your neck. It was here, in this period, the first Trollbead made its entrance.

Even as a young silversmith, Soren Nielsen was well on his way with his works in the hobby-room in a cellar in Holte. He had created a small, refined pearl in silver from a wax model and oxidized and polished it until it was just right. Soren hit upon drilling a hole through the pearl and suddenly things fell into place. The very first Trollbead, "The Mask", was born. This bead can still be found in the collection by the way.

Five Beads followed "The Mask" (at first they were called Trollpearls) and made up the first ever collection. These pearls were not subject to effective marketing and flashy PR, however; they lived their quiet lives on the shelves of the father's jeweler's shop in Klareboderne in Copenhagen. They were in Hibernation, but the customers gradually noticed them and began putting more and more pearls on the same string.

These beads are handmade singles. Some were prototypes that were rejected; some were made slightly off color. Every single one is extremely rare. We cannot request a certain one, or color. What we get is what we get. All Trollbead distributors are not allowed to purchase the one of a kind Trollbeads, only the top distributors. We are very honored and excited about showcasing these extremely rare gems.

You may be surprised, just because these beads were rejected, or flawed, is an understatement. Some are extremely vibrant, and skillfully made. I the owner of Retired Trollbeads like some of these better than the regulars. They have lots of pazsaz and character.

Each bead comes with a number given by Retired Trollbveads, and if you would like we will put your name or initials by the sold bead that you have bought, incase you resell your Trollbeads you can redirect your customers here for proof of authenticity.
